Yeah- I have gotten this error because I have a timer app that also plays music from the ipod. The timer includes necessary timer sounds of course, but apparently you cannot have any other sounds in your app if you are playing music from ipod. That is retarded.

Your application, Musical round timer, cannot be posted to the App Store at this time because it violates section 3.3.5 of the iPhone SDK Agreement; "Applications must comply with the Human Interface Guidelines and other Documentation provided by Apple."

Your application duplicates the functionality of the built-in iPhone application, iPod, without providing sufficient differentiation or added functionality. Your app downloads media files that are not managed by the iTunes application, which also manages media files, we believe this would be confusing to the user. To avoid this customer confusion, we have chosen to not publish this type of application to the App Store.

The app has a vibration function. In the description its says "Vibrate not available on iPod Touch". However in the app there is still a setting for "vibrate on/off".

I know check whether I'm running on an iPod Touch or iPhone and remove or show accordingly.

Mentioning in the description is not enough...which is OK except this is about the 10th update and no one from Apple mentioned it before.

What does this mean? Did you advertise that your app features vibration but also runs in iPod Touch?

Here is an obscure rejection that's got me a few times.

"We've reviewed XXXXXXXXXXX and determined that we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store because it does not adhere to the iPhone Application Programming Guide as outlined in iPhone SDK Agreement section 3.3.5; "Applications must comply with the Human Interface Guidelines and other Documentation provided by Apple."

On iPod touch, it is not possible to make the device vibrate, though your application may feature vibration. When XXXXXXXXX is installed on an iPod touch, the vibration feature is still available but does not function."
