“Ball der Wirtschaftsuniversitt” in Hofburg. Maria accompanied me there so it cost me 28 instead of 60 because for each 2 tickets you only required one student identification. I had fun dancing with French and Polish students whom I had to show the waltz and polka.

If you want to know which ballroom events happen in Vienna, be sure to check out the Ballkalender of the Vienna administration.
Bought A Smoking #
I bought a smoking at Peek & Cloppenburg plus all the trimmings to have something nice to wear at all the balls I am going to. Until now I have been wearing a gray Boss outfit, but for some balls this is below the dress code. So I figured: better overdressed most of the time than to be overlooked by the girls…
Tanzschule Schwebach #
“Ball der Tanzschule Schwebach” in Austria Center Vienna. I danced all night long and enjoyed specials like a sushi bar and some of the break highlights like an Irish step performance and other dancing formations. I lost count of the number of ladies I danced with. There was one who danced so much better than me but never managed to smile the whole time. I began to pity all those girls who have boyfriends who don’t go to balls to dance but to drink. And I pity those even more who let themselves be influenced by their boring partners and follow.
Werner Kern #
I bought a pair of new shoes for ballroom dancing from Werner Kern. They have a shop in Vienna. These shoes are so much better to dance in than my old an battered Boss shoes.
Parkhotel Schönbrunn #
“Strictly Ballroom” in Parkhotel Schönbrunn. Lot’s of people dancing there, though comparatively few at my age. It was organized by Swingtime Entertainment and therefore had lot’s of swing and boogie music. Still I danced all night long with 3 partners and had some fun.
